ROSA CRUX - DISCOGRAPHY (56 VIDEOS)
Rosa Crux
Profile:
French Goth Rock ensemble founded be Olivier Tarabo in 1984 while studying at the Artschool of Rouen.
The band uses a lot of adjusted & self-built instruments, of which the B.A.M. (Batterie Acoustique Midi - a set of genuine drums played by a programmable electromagnetic process) is probably the most prominent. It even won the price of sound inventions in Paris in 2001.
Live performances of Rosa Crux are always spectacular.
The most 'simple' stage-set includes the B.A.M., 8 churchbells, a grand piano & is built around "La Danse De La Terre".
A more extended set also includes a giant metal cage in which a man takes place & is smashed against a large iron gong.
The most spectacular stage-set is called "The Iron Games" & needs 300m2 of space to be set up. It includes a whole series of inventions, rat hurdy-gurdies, resonating cones, crane-actuated lyres, water clocks, bells and gongs of all sorts, dancers covered in sound sensors, gigantic double-basses, etc.
Current line-up:
Olivier Tarabo - Guitars, Lead Vocals
Claude Feeny - Piano, Carillon,
Stéphane Gouby - Bass
Camille Cauvin - BagpipeMore

Rosa Crvx : Best. Band. Ever.
The fact is, contrary to what it is said here on discogs, it is absolutely not "Goth Rock" music, it is pure Ritual Art, nothing less, but a lot more...
Each and every one title they made is an absolute hymn to Music, providing a perfect harmony between Rhythms (so heavy, so martial, so powerful) and Melodies (sometime epic, sometime creepy).
And the chant... These latin litanies speaking of ancient rituals today forgotten, totaly stimulating...
There is a true Power behind these songs, oh and everyone HAS to see their videos... Their crazy inventions, their crazy shows, and don't be afraid of the age of the first cds, that music is timeless...
A slight little problem though :
Not enough stuff, of course... Three albums, no new release since 2002... The new versions of some titles on Lux In Tenebris Lucet are even more powerful than the original one (most of the tracks will annihilate your sound system and your neighbors), but hell, we want brand new albums (and no mp3, stop this infamy !) !
All this to say, if you truly are a music lover, you really HAVE to buy and discover this stuff, for it is the better incarnation of the very soul and spirit of ritual and esoteric music.
Thank you for that, Rosa Crvx.
