Mecano (2) Profile: Dutch band formed in 1978 by Dirk Polak and Pieter Kooyman. Started out as a punk band but after they were joined by Tejo Bolten, Cor Bolten and Ton Lebbink around 1979 the style developed into new wave and art rock. This line-up was active until 1983. Current line-up consists of Dirk Polak and Mick Ness. The group used different variations of their name at different times, such as Mecano Ltd. (1978), Mecano (1979-1983, 2005-2007), Mecano Un-Ltd. (1997, 2014-2017).
