Why Rome fell?
It is question that requires many responses, probably very complicated. But we may sum some characteristics in order to respond: Been the main one entropy (Absolutely everything tends to disassociate after a while, from atoms to cells to galaxies) Nothing has, be or will prevail as the mandatory law of nature is to ever evolve and mutate, the ones who are more flexible to evolve remain, the ones who doesn't dissapear. Cockroaches and Crocodiles are by far more flexible than us and thats probably because they only follow one single tradition, that is survival. Man is some kind of aberration, he follows his own traditions anchored in his irrational thoughts and feelings, he is an antagonistic with the nature's blend, as long as he remains out of nature's course he is lost to decadence. His own irrational traditions and morality make him obsolete in the face of nature.
This band was a sonic sculptor for start, Petersson was a man of noises and noise combustion in his first project Archon Satani. A sonic nihilist basically, expressing his disgust through music. After a while he created his solo project Ordo Rosarious Equilibrio. In here he jumped into the practical divertment of the nihilist, an exacerbated hedonism was perceived in his music then as follow up. Eager to shock the still doctrinal society that still carries the ghosts from Victorian era about sexuality and whiping the dead body of Satanic epics that equal such Victorian fears still present in contemporary times he charged with industrial strolls taken from European folk and made em loops to be combined with cryptic poetry and bizarre esoteric gibberish.
As result we had a compendium of albums that went from the very basic sampler loops with rhythmic box and synths to more pretentious neoclassical outfit. But to be completely honest, Petersson was always unable to become more than an industrial troubadour with very limited and narrow creativity and a very limited amount of musical weaponry, he is not a musician. His inflexibility along with his inability was his doom. He couldnt transfix his own creation, he could just add more and more layers to the monster until it was nothing but a joke from himself. A parody that in its seriousness wasnt aware of the clown disguise it was covered with. In his effort to captivate he rapidly transgressed the boundaries from underground and went into conventional shock, pornography and bubblegum chorus and so it entered officially into the territory of the contemporary music circus.
In the end we just know by history that Rome (and to a greater extent Europe as a whole) became a ghost of what it used to be, just ruins and museums and people boasting about the glorious times of power, imperialism and greed but nothing else. Is there any morality behind this? Perhaps there is one. Man needs some traditions to exist, as musicians and artists needs some concepts and ideas to create but as soon those ideas remain unadapted to the entropy, and therefore such traditions or concepts of creation become irrelevant to the current time, then the destiny from such collectives or artists can be prefigured.
