funeralcrasher I love that this was completely hidden to me until 30 years after. Praise of Folly are one of my new favorite bands, even if they aren't actively recording and touring. Hanged Man slaps so fuckin hard Favorite track: The Hanged Man (Black Tape Sessions).

tsghell9k First heard Praise of Folly's St. Thomas shell-cassette in '95 or '96 and instantly fell in love with it. "Delicate Pallor" was my favorite, followed quickly by that rocking Christian Death-esque breakdown ending of The(e) Envisioned. The other 2 cassettes have been highly collectible and too hard to find on ebay and Discogs, so it's great to finally hear them here. I hope to hear the remasters of Disillusioned. Favorite track: Delicate Pallor.

about

All Shadows Past is a retrospective album of all the early songs released by the Los Angeles California based gothic post-punk group Praise Of Folly. Four of these songs were originally independently released by the band’s leader Thomas McFarlan on a self-titled 4 song tape EP in 1992. This tape has become known by fans as the Praise Of Folly “white tape” or demo tape. The other 3 songs on this retrospective are from the second Praise Of Folly tape EP that Thomas released in 1993 titled: “As If Every Song Would Be The Last”. All together, these songs comprise the entire release output from Praise Of Folly before their full length 9 song LP was released in 1995 titled: “Disillusioned”.

All 7 of these songs have been transferred from the original DAT tape masters to a purely digital format, then dramatically remastered by Isotope Studios and Thomas McFarlan for your listening pleasure, and trip down memory lane, to the dawn of second wave gothic post-punk from California.
