I don't know why people have to say that David Sylvian is one of the rare artists to bla bla bla ! I will just name some artists who do the same as him : Mariee Sioux, Emily Jane White, Gudrid Hansdottir from Iceland, Anna Von Hausswolff from Denmark, Anna Tivel etc etc. David Sylvian is experimenting, that's all. His voice is indeed unique and he is a fabulous song-maker. His music is, most of the time, quiet, but I like it like this. And I must confess that I listened to Blemish and Manafon again and, although I was very very disappointed at the beginning, I now like them. I have liked Sylvian since Japan but there are sooo many TRUE artists. In the end, with Sylvian, there is plenty material to choose from. Some like his electro experimentation, I love what he does with Nine Horses.

This voice...its hard to mistake it for anything else. David Sylvian is probably one of the few solo performers whose sincerity can't be doubted. He also tried almost anything and quite succesfully - from more poppy work in Japan, to ambient and experimental music. One of the truly greatest figures in modern music.

David Sylvian is as enigmatic as his works ranging from electro-poppish to avant-garde romantisms... Music constantly as beautiful and haunting - at times too calm though, however one of the few artists in this world to release music, care for it and cherish it. So many albums to choose from, a tough task to do alright but well worth a listen...
